SANDRA SWINGER – Sasha’s Antiques and Uniques
Sandra began collecting antiques – primarily decorative boxes and black & white sketches – in her Illinois
hometown. Her Travel Agency ownership time in the ‘90s permitted extensive travel which allowed for
expanding her collection of unique items of value.
Sandra notes that while in the travel business she traveled 4 to 5 times a year. She always asked the
locals where the antique shops were located or the outdoor markets . . . favorites are in the Czech
Republic and England. Also, in Poland amber and carved wood items are plentiful. She has also come to
know many other sources if special antiques and uniques! The business name, Sasha’s Antiques and
Uniques, came from her Polish grandmother’s pet name for Sandra (SASHA) as a child.
When asked about her most enjoyable reason for being a dealer, her reply is one that rings true for so
many: “The hunt is most gratifying!” So, she is always happy to take special requests from clients who
are looking for something Unique . . . so do not hesitate to ask if you do not see what you need in her or
