For decades, this side chair was used in my classes through the adult education programs, Open Doors, offered by the Albemarle Public Schools, and the Continuing Studies programs at the University of Virginia. Its use was to show how a modern day cabinetmaker could replicate the carving, turning, and joinery of early times into a newly made version.
